TikTok Star Gives Up Lucrative Online Channel in Pursuit of Jesus

This past July, a social media influencer with nearly a million followers announced that she was walking away from her lucrative career as an online tarot card reader because she has found something infinitely greater. 

In a farewell video to the audience she spent years building, Alexandra Ashcroft – the woman now known on TikTok as “Alex in the Ordinary” – explained that her journey had not happened overnight. It had been months of praying, questioning, searching, and gradually discovering the truth in Christ. 

‘Alex Reads Tarot’ was a popular and prominent social media creator in the WitchTok space, where she gained a large following by posting daily tarot readings, zodiac updates, and paid spiritual readings. 

Then, without warning, she nuked her social media accounts, deleted all her videos, changed her handle to ‘Alex in the Ordinary,’ changed her look, and announced in an emotional testimony that she’s become a Christian as a result of Christ calling her to Himself. 

She is clear: “Jesus Christ has saved my life.” 

She notes that once the account is gone, she will not be making any more social media content, but rather will be stepping out of the spotlight to pursue her good God and Savior and His call on her life. 

At one point she admits she has no idea what comes next. “What I do know,” she says, “is that Jesus Christ has saved my life.” 

There is remarkable freedom in that confession. She isn’t pretending to have every answer or laying out a detailed ministry strategy. She simply knows the One she is following, and that is enough. There is something refreshingly biblical about that. The first disciples didn’t know where Jesus would lead them either. They simply left their nets and followed. 

And if God can do this for Alexandra, never stop praying for the people you love.
