We have gathered 100 ideas of things to do, see, and eat that will be a challenge to complete for locals and transplants alike. Will you be able to do all 100?

100 IDEAS IN 100 DAYS OF SUMMER

Be very, very careful. If you blink, you will completely miss the short season known only in Twin Ports folklore as Summer. To make the most of this treasured window of weather, we have gathered 100 ideas of things to do, see, and eat that will be a challenge to complete for locals and transplants alike. Will you be able to do all 100?

DULUTH

1. Take a selfie at the top of Ely’s Peak.

2. Ring the peace bell at Enger Tower.

3. Share a flight of ice cream at Love Creamery.

4. Wave at the Paul A. Tregurtha as it passes under the Aerial Lift Bridge.

5. Take a family photo for a group of tourists in Canal Park.

6. Eat Vitta Pizza on their patio.

7. Make a sand castle on Park Point beach.

8. Get a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

9. Hike/walk to the waterfall at Lester Park.

10. Do (attempt) a cartwheel in the grassy bowl at Leif Erickson Park.

11. Get nachos from Sir Ben’s.

12. Walk the Lakewalk from the pier to the parking lot at 21st Ave E.

13. Get pancakes at Uncle Louis’.

14. Tour Glensheen Mansion.

15. Swim in Lake Superior.

16. Find an agate on the beach.

17. Skip rocks (at least 3 skips) at Brighton Beach.

18. Tour the William A. Irvin ship.

19. Take a ride on the North Shore Scenic Railroad.

20. Explore the Fitger’s complex (bonus points if you don’t get lost).

21. Feed the ducks at Forest Hill Cemetery.

22. Hike in Hartley Nature Area. Don’t get spooked by the root cellar!

23. Ride your bike on the Lakewalk from 21st east to Brighton Beach.

24. Hike the Park Point Nature Trail all the way to the end. You can see Wisconsin from there!

25. Walk (or drive) up Seven Bridges Road.

26. See Duluth from the harbor on a Vista Fleet cruise.

27. Tell a stranger, “Duluth is a cool city.” Note their reaction.

28. Walk through the historic mansion neighborhoods in east end.

29. Stop and smell the roses at the Rose Garden, just don’t pick one!

30. Find a new summer read at Zenith Bookstore.

31. Get ice cream at the Portland Malt Shop.

32. Take a selfie in front of the Leif Erickson statue AND strike the same pose.

33. Find a new, old treasure at Father Time Antiques.

34. Get a history lesson at the Maritime Museum.

35. Climb to the top of Enger Tower.

36. See the Aerial Lift Bridge lit up at night.

37. Play laser tag, mini golf, or arcade games at Adventure Zone.

38. Walk or run the Munger Trail.

39. Ride the Alpine Coaster at Spirit Mountain.

40. Watch the sunrise from the end of the pier in Canal Park.

41. Tour Downtown Duluth via the Skywalk.

42. Walk around St. Scholastica and pretend it’s Hogwarts.

73. Get Mac n’ Cheese pizza from VIP (don’t forget to add hot dogs).

74. Learn about Richard I. Bong at the Veterans Historical Center.

93. See the infamous Split Rock Lighthouse.

94. Find the falls at Gooseberry Falls.

96. Feel on top of the world at Palisade Head (Tettegouche State Park).

97. Canoe or kayak the Brule River.

98. Drive Highway 13 to Bayfield, WI (the scenic way).

99. Take the ferry to Madeline Island.
