BOOKSALE: Not Just a Bookstore

A TREASURE CHEST OF USED BOOKS

Do you like the smell of old books? As I walked into the Booksale at Robinson’s Fuente recently, I recognized that familiar smell. I was reminded that old books have a story to tell that goes beyond the words inside. The best old books have a name written in them or writing that looks like your lola spent some time reading it (since there are plenty of highlights and underlines). If you are a bookworm in need of new reading material or a student frantically looking for a text book, Booksale has you covered.

While browsing at the Booksale branch at Robinson’s Fuente in Cebu City, I interviewed Yvette who has been working there for one year. She is no stranger to Booksale, though, since she transferred there from the branch in Palawan. She likes working there simply because she loves books.

Visit Yvette at Booksale Fuente!

Booksale has many locations in the Visayas. I tend to visit the Robinson’s Fuente and SM City locations in Cebu City. With over 80 stores nationwide, the stocks at Booksale are changed and replaced often. This means each time you visit Booksale you are likely to find a new book on the shelf. They have many different kinds of books including religious books, dictionaries, fiction, magazines, children’s books, text books, and more. Since books sell fast, I encourage you to buy the book you want when you see it (you might not find it again). There are so many new books each time I visit that I could spend a few hours looking through all of them!

Booksale also has multiple Facebook groups (organized by region) to help you find books you are looking for. If you are an avid reader looking for a specific book or series, join the Facebook Group or message Booksale to see if they have it at any of their locations. They also post pictures of series and other bundles of books they have available. An employee at Booksale indicated those posts occur weekly. If you find the book you are looking for in a Facebook group, Booksale can’t ship it to you, but you could try and get them delivered using delivery services like Lalamove or Grab Delivery.

I have found each visit to Booksale to be a good experience. The book selection is great, and you can take your time browsing without pressure to buy something. Also, one last thing…if you happen to be shopping at the Fuente branch, don’t forget to pick up a free copy of Word on the Street Magazine before you leave!
