Street Level Radio News Update
BURNING DOG RADIO TAKES OVER STREET LEVEL RADIO
Are you tired of listening to the same old songs? Sure, there’s a time and place for the classics that filled up your high school playlists or the songs that are currently trending (read: overplayed). But I’m here to tell you that a whole new world of music awaits you. A world of music… world… Oh! That reminds me, did you know that Street Level Radio has a sister station on the other side of the world? Let me introduce you to Burning Dog Radio.
Broadcasting out of a 19th century brick and stained-glass church in a small American town, Burning Dog Radio is a 100-watt low-power FM station that reaches about 25 kilometers into the surrounding countryside. The station may not reach far on the FM airwaves, but it does reach deep—deep enough to penetrate the thick brick walls of a nearby university. It’s the only station that students can listen to in the dark caverns of the art and design building on the nearby university campus!
With a team of about 10 volunteer DJ’s, eclectic may be the best way to describe what you’ll hear on the station. Every DJ brings their unique personality and skillsets to the station, providing a variety of content that will keep you engaged. BDR also highlights a new featured artist on their station every week, which is often an undiscovered or underground musician.
Now, you may be wondering why I’m telling you all of this when the FM station is only available in a small radius in the middle of the United States when you’re probably reading from somewhere in the Philippines. Well, it’s your lucky day. You can listen to Burning Dog Radio! BDR is taking over Street Level Radio to broadcast its music and content every day. Just go to streetlevelradio.com or open the SLR app on your phone from 2-4pm and 11pm-1am to listen.
